Happily, the company at Rishikesh Yog Peeth was grrrreat. Our class was composed of mostly kindred women, aged 23 – 36, from Canada, Seychelles (look it up), Hungary and the States. We had 3 official teachers: the intent master of our program who doubled as our theory lecturer, a meditative yogi whoes eyes twinkle and wisdom belies his actual youth, and a serious-faced, beautifully kind asanas teacher. All 3 of our teachers were young, Indian, and devoted to yoga; yet each teacher’s practice of yoga differed. Besides our teachers, there was an amiable cast of characters to keep us in comfort – which, I must say, they excelled at while somehow managing to be the best of company beyond their obligations. By the end of the course, I had gained friends that bordered on (unrealistically diligent) brothers… pretty much the only time that I recalled that they were obligated to keep me comfortable was when the hot water in my shower ran cold. And so, in what could’ve been 7 days, 7 months, or even 7 years of happily studying yoga, November drifted by….

The most amazing experience!
I went to Rishikesh Yog Peeth for the February course. Everything was excelent, the teachers, the food, the rooms, the EXPERIENCE. I did not expect to feel so great, being away from my family for 6 weeks. I learned a lot, not only the teachings of yoga, but also the teachings of life. I am a better person now, more calm, more happy.
Thanks a lot everybody!!!!!!!!!!!

This was one the most enriching experiences of my life…and I don’t exaggerate. The teachers were great and I found the education to be very holistic and very applicable. The food was worth the trip in and of itself. I felt like I really got a taste of India, Yoga and all kinds of new insights into myself and life. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Thank you sooooooooo much!

Really enjoyed the ‘Yog Peeth’ experience. I was looking for a strong foundation to start a path in yoga and learn how to become a great teacher and that is exactly what I found. They have an amazing vision for the future so I envy the people studying with Yog Peeth about a year from now.

Rishikesh Yog Peeth holds a very special place in my heart. While I came for yoga I returned from India with a much deeper understanding of life.
Asana classes were rigorous and fun at the same time and it opened up my body and spirit towards meditation and appreciation. A year later, back in Manhatten I still look back at Rishikesh Yog Peeth with joy and respect. You will feel lucky it came on your path ,like I did.

I went to the TTC in February 2010 and it was the best decision to go to the Rishikesh Yog Peeth. People, classes, teachers, rooms, garden, food and extra acitivities were just GREAT. The syllabus covers everything there is to know about Yoga. It enriched me in so many ways: My mind, my body, my spirituality, my understanding of life were changed afterwards.
The teacher training at Yog Peeth is amazing. All the guys are so friendly and knowledgeable. Anytime you have a question about Yoga, Rishikesh or life in general you can easily get a qualified answer. You get good variety with the different instructors in the morning and evening. Roshon’s philosophy and anatomy classes are really informative and at the same time laid back and relaxed. Food is tasty, atmosphere is sweet.
I’m here right now. It’s my first trip to India, which is relly incomparable to anything else- A monkey stole my banans the other day. I had to hop a brick wall to get back to my room because there was an angry cow in my path. I meditate on the roof while flocks of green parokeets fly overhead and chanting from the temples infuses the air. The center is surrounded by the beautiful Himalayas and a 5 minute walk to the Ganges. Everything is stunning. The teachers are very knowledgeable. The staff is sweet and wonderful. People come for various reasons and I think people can find many different things here: healing, spiritual awakening, a good practical foundation for becoming a teacher. I think the people who get the most out of this program are the ones who come looking for something bigger than just a certificate. I think people who are genuinely interested in growing, and finding peace, and learning how to live beyond ego, in addition to getting really healthy and fit and obtaining the RYT 200, will get the most out of this program. One comment though is that I think staying at the center is way better than staying at the hotel next door- The hotel’s rooms are fine and it’s nice sometimes to have a little more privacy, but it is a very different atmosphere and does change the experience I think. For some that might be better, but most people in my program would have preferred to stay at the center. Overall, so far my experience has really been wonderful. I am very sore and tired! but am filled with peace and gratitude for so many things-

This teacher training course was life changing. There are not many places you can go for a long period of time and learn about the nature of the world; the universe. I have been waiting for an opportunity such as this to come my way for many years now and am so happy to have experienced the intensive study with Rishikesh Yog Peeth. Best of luck to the organization in the future.

I will be attending the April 2011 session and am wondering if anyone else has signed up for that one yet? If so lets talk* I too, looked for a place to study in India for 6 months or so and at the very last minute this place found its way to me and I feel it is a gift: Yog Peeth Ashram, I believe, is an answer to my prayers as of late* It will be my first time to India and I would like to study yoga and a yogic way of life while also sightseeing and experiencing the landscape. I read somewhere that the old Maharishi Ashram is right next door where the Beatles studied in the 60′s and that monkeys have taken it over! I would love to see that with my own eyes and hands! Anyone game?
